This website has been built so that it can be used by as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technology.
What has been done
- Pages are structured with proper headings and landmark regions so that screen readers can navigate them.
- All content is reachable with the keyboard alone, and the currently focused element is always visible.
- A "Skip to main content" link is provided at the top of every page.
- Text can be enlarged using the accessibility toolbar or the browser's own zoom, without loss of content or function.
- A high-contrast display mode is available from the accessibility toolbar.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text.
- Animation and the background video are disabled automatically for visitors whose device is set to reduce motion.
- Colour is never the only means of conveying information.
Standards
The website has been developed with reference to the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance Level AA.
